Quebec has a different deduction mix
Quebec employees contribute to QPP rather than CPP and also pay Quebec Parental Insurance Plan premiums. The calculator includes both, plus Quebec income tax and the federal Quebec abatement.
QPP, QPIP and EI in 2026
QPP base and first additional employee contributions use a combined rate of 6.30% on eligible earnings after the basic exemption. QPP2 applies to the next earnings band. Quebec’s EI employee rate is 1.30%, and QPIP is 0.43%, each subject to its annual ceiling. See the methodology for all caps.
What the Quebec estimate leaves out
The provincial worker deduction and basic personal amount are included. The estimate excludes public prescription drug insurance premiums, solidarity credits, work premiums and other household-specific amounts. It is intended for a full-year employee aged 18–64, not a self-employed worker or someone who moved provinces during the year.

A few good questions
Is this the exact amount on my paycheque?
No. This is an annual planning estimate divided into equal periods. Your employer may withhold different amounts because of your TD1, benefits, pension plan, pay schedule, bonuses, year-to-date contributions or province of employment. Use the CRA’s official payroll calculator for a specific pay period.
Does moving into a higher tax bracket reduce all my pay?
A higher income tax rate applies only to the portion of taxable income above that bracket’s threshold. Your earlier income slices retain their lower rates. Benefits and income-tested credits can have separate phase-outs that this calculator does not model.
Why do Quebec results have different deductions?
Quebec employees contribute to the Quebec Pension Plan and Quebec Parental Insurance Plan. They also use a different EI rate, provincial tax system and a federal tax abatement. These are included in the estimate.
Do you store my salary?
