A few good questions

Is this the exact amount on my paycheque?

No. This is an annual planning estimate divided into equal periods. Your employer may withhold different amounts because of your TD1, benefits, pension plan, pay schedule, bonuses, year-to-date contributions or province of employment. Use the CRA’s official payroll calculator for a specific pay period.

Does moving into a higher tax bracket reduce all my pay?

A higher income tax rate applies only to the portion of taxable income above that bracket’s threshold. Your earlier income slices retain their lower rates. Benefits and income-tested credits can have separate phase-outs that this calculator does not model.

Why do Quebec results have different deductions?

Quebec employees contribute to the Quebec Pension Plan and Quebec Parental Insurance Plan. They also use a different EI rate, provincial tax system and a federal tax abatement. These are included in the estimate.
